PC2 Bio Hazard Spill Kit
 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

  1. Empty contents onto a clean surface. Don the protective clothing. Apron, face mask/eye shield and gloves. If necessary, wear a respirator mask if available in your laboratory.
  2. Using caution tape provided, cordon off spill area. Use an adhesive tape to secure to walls or benches as required.
  3. Open one of the yellow clinical waste bags provided by placing hands inside bag and pressing firmly on base. Place in an upright, free standing position.
  4. Open the absorbent powder sachet and apply evenly over spill area. Allow 5 minutes for powder to react with spill.
  5. Using the scraper and scoop pick up the substance and place into the flat yellow bio-waste bag. Then place scraper and scooper into the same bag. Now seal the bag securely with one of the ties provided and place into the second yellow clinical waste bag provided. Avoid cross contamination. Do not touch the outside of the bag.
  6. Clean the spill area with the virucidal/bactericidal disinfectant solution using one of the enclosed cleaning cloths. Contain the spill by wiping from the outside towards the centre. Place the contaminated cloth into the second clinical waste bag.
  7. Using the second cloth clean the area with the 1% Sodium hypochlorite solution provided. Then dispose of the cloth by placing it in the yellow clinical waste bag. Avoid cross contamination. Do not touch the outside of the outside of the bag.
  8. Remove apron, face mask and gloves and also place in the yellow clinical waste bag. Seal the bag securely with second tie then dispose of bag in accordance with Government Regulations.
  9. Wash and dry hands thoroughly
